    The transcever operates n 12 V negatve ground systems only! Check the battery polarty and voltage of the vehcle before nstallng the transcever. u Use only the suppled DC power cable or a Kenwood optonal DC power cable. u Do not cut and/or remove the fuse holder on the DC power cable.

    GETTING STARTED Note: The followng nstructons are for use by your Kenwood dealer, an authorzed Kenwood servce faclty, or the factory. UPPLIED CCESSORIES Carefully unpack the transcever. We recommend that you dentfy the tems lsted below before dscardng the packng materal. If any tems are mssng or have been damaged during shipment, file a claim with the carrier immediately.

    n Installing the Transceiver For passenger safety, nstall the transcever securely usng the suppled mountng bracket and screw set, so the transcever wll not break loose n the event of a collson. Note: Before nstallng the transcever, check how far the mountng screws wll extend below the surface.

    BASIC OPERATIONS ON/ OFF WITCHING OWER Press to swtch the transcever ON. • A beep sounds and the dsplay llumnates. If the Power-on tone select s set to OFF, the beep wll not sound. • If the Transcever Password functon s programmed, “PASSWORD” wll appear on the dsplay.

    FleetSync: ALPHANUMERIC 2-WAY PAGING FUNCTION FleetSync s an Alphanumerc 2-way Pagng Functon and s a protocol owned by Kenwood Corporaton. Note: If set up by your dealer, your transcever may use the MDC-1200 feature n place of FleetSync. MDC-1200 and FleetSync cannot be operated smultaneously.
