1.7 GENERAL FASTENING REQUIREMENTS
Use only indicated products and strictly follow the requested methods:
1.7.1 MANUFACTURER'S REQUIREMENTS
1. Metric Series, 8.8 type
2. PAN Series
3. AN Series
4. NAS Series
Each fastening element must have specific anti‐corrosion and resistance to oxidation characteristics.
1.7.2 FASTENING AND METHODS REQUIRED FOR ALL THREADED
CONNECTIONS
1. Fiberlock nuts:

‐ fastening of fittings and components.
‐ fastening of torsion rods and blade flapping axis bolt.
‐ fastening of control rods and rotor head assembly.
‐ fastening of rotor head joints.
•
Never use them more than once;
•
Do not use them if the tightening is not locked;
•
After tightening there must be at least 1‐1,5 thread clear of the nut.
•
Always place between nut and plain washer, never directly on surfaces.
•
Light locking ‐ purple Loctite 222;
•
Medium locking ‐ blue Loctite 243;
•
Strong locking ‐ Loctite 272.
•
Always use together with safety pins or cotter pins.
•
Use on all painted surfaces.
•
When possible use on all aluminium surfaces;
•
Always use on surfaces of fibreglass reinforced plastic.
•
Tighten all the nuts by turning the nut, but never turn the bolt.
