Generall y, exposure sh ou ld be corrected
whenever the high-key (light} or l ow-key
area occupies more than half of the total
viewing area. How much more or less ex-
posure should be given depends on the ligh t-
ing condition as roughly described below.
However, these are only general & ruidelines
meant to he lp you w hile experime nting.
Some situations requ ire special measures.
Fo r instance, wlten shooti11g a subject a-
gainst the sun or some other exceptwnally
strong light source, requiring drastic ex-
posure correction, or when you shoot a
subject in an u nvarying lighttng c ondition
such as under photo/amps in a studio,

Once: you have made an exposure correction
on a specific fram e using the exposure com-
p en satio n dial, do n ot forget t o reset th e dial
to its o rigi nal setting. Otherwise, all fo llow-
ing frames will b e incorr ectly ex p osed.
