Rear Dust Cap
T he rear dust cap must be removed before
mounting the lens.
Op eration with
a l'l
F D lens wh ich lacks
a chrome Breech -lock mo unt ring :
T he rear dust cap fo r this type o f lens has
serrated edges. Do not mount a rear dust
cap which lacks the serrated edges.
R emoval from lens
1. Turn the cap coun terclockwise until it
stops.
2. Pull the cap o ut.
Reattachmen t
l. Align the arrow on the cap with the
red dot at t he rear of the lens.
2. In thaL position, apply slight pressure to
the cap and turn it ·tJockwise until it is
t igh t.
Op eration wit h
an FD lens
wh ich has
a chro
me Breech -lock mount
ring or
with an FL lens:
Re moval fro m L ens
1. Turn the lens' mount ring
clockwi se until
it stops.
2. Pull t he c ap out.
Once the rear cap is removed, the Breech-
lock mount ring is locke<;I so that it cannot
· be turned. (The diaphragm blades are also
locked and
will
not move even if the aper-
ture ring is rotated.)
