will
not
function

battery
is
loaded. Use one brand-n
ew silver
o xide or
alkaline-manganese
battery as speci-
fied in
the table
below
or
an
equivalent
bat-
tery of another
brand.

It
can be loaded
and
unloaded
more
easily
before the
lens
is mounted,
and,
of course,
if
the
action
grip
is
attached,
it must be
removed while
loading.
You should always
wipe the battery
pol
es
with a clean, dry
cloLh before
insertion
to
prevent
any cor-

rosion and
damage
to the
camera
due to
dirt
or
finge rprints.
To
load
the
bau.ery:
I.
Apply
ei ther
a
fingernail
or the
eyepiece
p
rotective
cover,
which
is
inserted
into
the
accessory shoe of
the camera, into
th
e
groove of the battery
chamber
cover and
lift lightly
so
that
the cover
flips up.
2.
Following
the
di<1gram on the inside
of
the
battery
chamber,
load the battery
negative
pole
firs
t,
pushing it
downwards
in
th
e chamber.
Make
sure
the
poles arc
facing
in
the
correct
directions.
Incorrect
loading can lead
Lo possible corros
ion
an
d
damage
to
th
e
batter
y te
rminals
besides
causing
th
e
battery
to
disch
arge very
q
uickly.
To
unload
the
haucry,
simply
tip
the
posi-
tive end forwards
and
pull
it
o
u
t
from th
e
top.
The
battery
should
he
removed if
the
camera
is not
to be
used for an excessively
long period or time.
