Drum bearings (front)
front of seal
Old system with wheels
New system with shoes
The front part of the drum is fitted with a felt seal
and rides against four bearings (ferodo shoes), whi-
ch ensure there will be no wobble or friction during
rotation. The earlier version had no ferodo shoes;
instead, the lower part of the drum rested and rolled
on two wheels.

Yate Production Dryers
front NTC sensor
The front NTC sensor is mounted in the top part of
the front air duct. This sensor is used by the electro-
nics to control the drying temperature; as soon as the
air reaches a given set point, one heating element
is switched off. It is also used by the electronics, in
conjunction with the rear NTC sensor and conducti-
vity sensor, to compute the cycle time remaining.
Rear NTC sensor
1
The rear NTC sensor (middle) is mounted to the
heater unit above the heating element, between the
one shot and resettable thermostats. This sensor is
used by the electronics to control the temperature
at the rear of the dryer.
SAfETY ThERMOSTATS
1 The non-resettable "one-shot" thermostat (whi-
te spot) is a safety device that disconnects all loads
at critical temperatures, set to trip at:
• 143 °C in electronic and electromechanical con-
denser dryers
• 150 °C in vented dryers
2 The self-resetting thermostat is a safety device
that limits the temperature at the rear by controlling
the power supply to the two heating elements; loca-
ted next to the one-shot thermostat, this is designed
to open at:
• 106 °C. In electronic and electromechanical con-
denser dryers
• 120°C in vented dryers
In the event of one and/or the other thermostat
failing, bOTh components MUST be renewed.
