Configuring the AP1014i

As mentioned above, prior to deploying the AP1014i remotely for VPN access, it must be configured to
securely connect to the corporate controller. Instructions for configuring VPN access can be found in
the "Configuring VPN Connections" section in the "Configuring Security" chapter of the System Director
Configuration Guide.

Installing the AP1014i

The AP1014i is designed to be mounted on either a horizontal flat surface (such as a desktop or table)
or a vertical surface (such as a wall). Note that if you are wall-mounting the AP, you will need to
purchase two screws sep arately. Simply screw them into the wall placed slightly more than three inches
apart (use the mounting template provided on the Quick Install document in the box) and slide the AP
into place on them. The mounting diagram is shown in

Note:
For horizontal surface deployments, simply place the AP on the desired surface and follow the instruc-
tions below.

Connect and Activate the AP

Follow the instructions below when deploying the AP for remote access. Note that prior to doing so,
the AP should be configured locally (when using it for VPN access) by the system administrator.
