1.3 Installation

1.3.1 Installation of the software

The installation files for the RM-010 software are contained in three disks. To
install RM-010 software execute the setup.exe file contained in disk 1.
The installation program will create a new directory, if necessary, and copy the
RM-010 files into it. We suggest to create a new directory called: C:\RM-010, but any
other name will do. The setup program will ask the other disks when necessary. It also
will create a Windows Program Group called RM-010, in which the icon
corresponding to the RM-010 program is located. To run the remote control program
of PROMAX-10/8+/8, double click the left-hand button of the mouse, while pointing at
the icon.
If a previous version of RM-010 has been installed, it will be necessary to
completely remove it before installing present version.
1.3.2 Installation of the connection cable between the PROMAX-10 / 8+ / 8
and the PC
The connection between PROMAX-10/8+/8 and the PC can be made by means of
the data transfer cable PROMAX model CC-208, which is supplied with the
programming package.
First of all turn off the PC and the PROMAX-10/8+/8. Then connect the 25 pin "D"
connector to any free port COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4 of the PC. Finally connect
the CC-208 cable to the RS-232 connector of the PROMAX-10/8+/8.
Remark: Before connecting the data transfer cable to the PROMAX-10/8+/8, it
must be taken out of its rubber holster in order to facilitate its later
disconnection.
