8. Laminating Cards

Suitable Card Types
The table below contains information on some typical card types and their suitability for laminating.
Card type
PVC Self-Adhesive.
PVC
Thickness 0.030" (0.76mm)
PVC/PET Composite
Thickness 0.030" ( 0.76mm).
Laminator Profiles
The driver has preset profiles for different card and laminate type.
Choose the profile which best matches your own circumstances.
Minimum Card Thickness
Cards should be a minimum of 0.030" ( 0.76mm). Thinner cards can be distorted by the amount of heat required to laminate them.
Lamination Temperature / Speed
Start with the preset profile for your card and laminate type. If after lamination the laminate patch or overlay is peeling from the card,
increase the roller temperature or decrease the card speed. If the cards are being distorted after lamination then decrease the roller
temperature or increase the card speed.

Suitable for
lamination?
Self-adhesive cards are not suitable for laminating. They may be printed

Cards can be successfully laminated on one side. Double-sided lamination

This type of card can be printed and laminated on both sides. This is due to

the improved thermal stability of the PVC / Polyester material.
Parameter Adjustments
Temperature, speed and other adjustments can be changed as requires to
achieve satisfactory card lamination. After adjustment any changes can be
saved as a custom profile and recalled whenever needed.
