To acquaint you with the usual problem s that may arise
and that can be quickly solved.
1.
Moisture in the gas bottles is a primary cause of furnace
failure as moisture escapes it freezes in the pressure
regulato r and obstruct s or cuts the volume of gas available .
SOLUT ION:
Mix one—ha lf teacup of alcohol in the gas bottle
before fill:Lng bottle with gas.
Alcohol under
pressure combine s with water
and escapes as a
vapor.
This vapor will not extingui sh furnace
or applianc es.
2.
Second major cause of furnace failures is the failure to
properly close pilot doors.
SOLUT ION:
Easy!
Firmly close doors and tighten wing nut
to prevent drafts.
Malfunc tioning of the thermo-c ouple.
When weak it auto
rnaticall y shuts off the safety valve
and stops the flow of
gas.
Usually happens 30 to 40 minutes after lighting
pilot.
