WATER PUMP
SHUR-flo #111
SHtJR-flo
CARR-GRIFF, INC.
1400 Cerritos Ave., East
Anaheim, California 92805
A/c 714/533-7700
This is a "demand" type water pressure system which is
triggered automatically by the drop in water pressure when
you open a faucet.
Very convenient...because it is all
automatic.
Just open the tap and the water is there
(when
pump's master switch is in the "ON" position).
CAUTION:
The water pump will not shut itself off when
the storage tank is empty.
This will drain the battery or
damage the pump.
It is wise to travel with the pump master
switch in the "OFF" position, activating it only when necessary.
REMEMBER.
.TURN THE WATER PUMP MASTER SWITCH "OFF" IF YOU
ARE CONHECTED TO CITY WATER HOOK-UP.
INITIAL_OPERATION
STEP O1\IE:
Fill tank with water.
STEP TWO:
Open all the faucets hot and cold.
STEP TfEE:
Switch pump to "ON" position.
Allow time for the
hot water tank to fill.
Shut off each faucet as
the flow becomes steady and free of air.
With the hot water tank filled and all the air ex
pelled from the system shutting off,
the last faucet
-should cause the pump to shut off.
IF MOTOR DOES NOT OPERATE CHECK FOR THE FOLLOWING-:
Your Shurflo pump is equipped with the automatic reset circuit
breaker to protect it and your RV electrical system against over
load.
IMPORTANT:
If your pump motor stops, please allow 10 minutes
for it to reset.
The motor should then restart automatically and
continue to run if a water fixture is open.
If, however,
the motor
continues to stop, requiring another few minutes to restart then
you should make the following six checks:
• 1.
Is battery discharged?
2.
Are wires di.connected or terminals corroded?
3.
Is the switch in the "ON" position?
4.
Are any fuses blown?
5.
Is the pump head jammed by a foreign object?
If so, reverse
electrical leads for a moment..this may clear the pump head.
6.
Is the water in the pump head frozen?
If so, use an electric
light bulb placed near the pump •to provide heat for thawing.
CHECK FOR LEAKS
We recommend a positive pressure check with a pressure gauge.
This
will indicate any leaks.
A small leak may become a major leak while
in transit or in use.
Even a small leak will be detected in a pressure
check as the pressure will drop and recycling will occur (pump com
ing on and going off without water being drawn from any of the fixtures.
