    CONFIDENTIAL Chapter 3: Operation Theory & Anatomy The circuit of P231 contain four parts: Main Board, Motors, LED & Sensors and WiFi Module. The battery is two series(2S) and the capacity is 550 mAH. The voltage of battery is from 8.4V (Battery full) to 6V (cut off).

    CONFIDENTIAL Symptom of TPH pixel fail Motors Cam motor Cam motor is a bipolar motor and driven by driver IC DRV8821. DRV8821 is designed to drive dual bipolar stepping motor and includes pulse-width-modulation (PWM) control of ouput current to 1.5A MAX.

    CONFIDENTIAL Chapter 4: Disassembly & Assembly Safety Instructions Read these instructions carefully. Save these instructions for future reference. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the printer. Before disassembly, the printer should be power off and remove the battery pack and adpater. Any PCB that is damage because of mishandling and disassembly will be judged as “out-of-warranty”.

  • Page 17 CONFIDENTIAL Step 1 Turn the printer to the front side and open the ribbon door by pressing the ribbon door button. Step 2 Gently pull the casing backward to release from the linkage hooks. Close door after removing the casing.
  • Page 18 CONFIDENTIAL Step 3 Turn the printer to the front side and push in the hooks below and pull the case upward with a PVC CR-80 card and circle it through all sides of the printer until the case is loosen.

  • Page 20 CONFIDENTIAL Step 6 Pull the top of MID FRAME, so you can move hooks of BOTTOM CASE up with the PVC CR-80 Card. Step 7 After the hooks of the BOTTOM CASE are loosen then pull it out from MID FRAME.

Step 5 Pull the linkage crank out, but remember that the cable is rouned over the crank for assemblying the TPH ASSY back into the printer (watch out washers which located at holes of both sides).

Tip 2 Install Metal Frame (LEFT). Make sure to install Capstan Roller, Pinch Roller, Platen Roller and Feed Roller to holes accordingly.

  • Page 40 CONFIDENTIAL Ribbon Calibration Place a used ribbon into the printer and glue the ribbon as show below so that the black bar is locked into the location of the sensor, then press the Htools’ ribbon calibration: If it shows “fail”, please check if the ribbon is locked tighthly; otherwise replace the sensor or the mainboard.
  • Page 41 CONFIDENTIAL Symptom of wrong ribbon frame printed: Sensor & roller movement inspection Move Capstan Motor – is a manual tool to rotate the capstan roller both ways. This function can release ribbon jam or paper jam without opening the internal mechanism.
  • Page 42 CONFIDENTIAL The Ribbon LED and LE Sensor “On / Off” button: This function simply turns on the ribbon LED and LE sensor that allows you to check the voltage through the mainboard connectors. If the mainboard connector is not providing the sufficient voltage to the sensor, then there might be a problem with the mainboard and not the sensor.
