    CAT5 VIDEO/RS-232 EXTENDER KIT 3. Installation 3.1 Connecting the Video/RS-232 Extender Kit Figure 3-1 illustrates the local and remote Video Data Transmitter (VDT) connections. Connect a power supply to each unit. Once connected, the system is ready to transmit VGA and RS-232 signals. NOTE You must use shielded Category 5 cable.

    CHAPTER 3: Installation 3.2 DB9 Pin Connection The following pinouts are valid for the DB9 connector on the unit: • Pin 2: Transmit • Pin 3: Receive • Pin 5: Ground 3.3 Picture Adjuster Use a screwdriver to turn the picture adjuster on the remote unit to get a clear projected image.
