The red diagnostics error on the Hearth & Home IFT-ACM fireplace indicates specific ignition system issues:

- 3 Red, 1 Green: ‘Appliance Safely Disabled’ — the pilot sparks for 60 seconds but does not detect flame.
- 2 Red, 1 Green: ‘Error Pilot Flame’ — pilot valve solenoid not detected.
- 2 Red, 2 Green: Spark coil failure.
- 5 Red, 1 Green: ‘Error Power Vent’ — related to power vent issues.

The remote may not turn the fireplace on because of communication errors, power loss, or ignition-related faults. Possible causes include:

- Remote not communicating with the appliance ("Remote Control Communication Error").
- No power to the appliance (check circuit breaker and battery backup).
- Appliance is safely disabled due to an error.
- Incorrect wiring or loose electrical connections.

These issues require checking connections and may need a qualified technician for repair.
