Replacing a Port Card or Filler Panel

This procedure provides instructions on how to remove and replace port cards (see
page
3-7) and filler panels (see
following steps should be taken before removing/replacing a port card:

Check the LEDs.
The LEDs are located on the front panel of each port card (see
Table 2-1 on page 2-6

Establish a telnet/console session.
Before replacing a port card, establish a telnet/console connection to determine a failure and verify
operation after replacement. Refer to the Fabric OS Procedures Guide for information about how to
check the status of hardware components using command line interface.
