Temporarily switching to
a service for a program
type
This function allows the main unit to switch
temporarily to a service for your desired program
type (TA, News or Info) from a different radio
station when you are listening to a DAB service.
This function works only when a service includes a
program type signals.
Press TA/News/Info repeatedly
until the indicator of your desired
program type
("TA", "News" or "Info") appears in
the display window.
• Each time you press TA/News/Info, the indicator
in the display window changes as follows.
- "TA" : Traffic announcement
- "News" : News
- "Info" : Services the purpose of which is to
impart advice in the widest sense
Example: When "TA" is selected as a program
type setting
• You can cancel this function by repeating this
step until the program type indicators ("TA",
"News" and "Info") turn off in the display window.
Changing the source or turning off the main unit
also cancels this function.

How this function actually works
CASE 1
If there is no radio station broadcasting a ser-
vice with the program type you have selected:
The main unit continues tuning in to the current
radio station.
When a radio station starts broadcasting a service
with the program type you have selected, the main
unit automatically switches to the radio station. The
program type indicator starts flashing in the display
window.
When the service is over, the main unit goes back
to the previously tuned radio station. (This function
still remains activated.)
CASE 2
If there is a radio station broadcasting a ser-
vice with the program type you have selected:
The main unit tunes in to the service. The program
type indicator starts flashing in the display window.
When the service is over, the main unit goes back
to the previously tuned radio station. (This function
still remains activated.)
NOTE
• Some program type signals sent from certain radio
stations may not be compatible with this function.
• If the currently tuned service includes the selected
program type information, another service is not
selected even if its radio station starts broadcasting
the same program type information.
• If the currently tuned service includes the selected
program type information, you can only use TA/
News/Info and DISPLAY as the tuner operation
buttons. If you press any other buttons, "LOCKED!"
appears in the display window.
• If the services toggle intermittently between the
currently tuned service and another service
including program type information, press TA/
News/Info to cancel this function.
