2.2.2

Choice of position for UNICO BOILER WALL unit

The position for installation of the unit, to obtain the best performance and prevent breakdowns or hazards, must have the following
requisites:
-
The wall on which the boiler is installed must be sturdy and able to withstand its weight.
-
It must be possible to leave room around the unit for any maintenance operations that may be necessary.
-
The following connections must be available near to the appliance: the pipes of the cold water supply and domestic hot water
supply and the electrical power supply (230V 1ph 50Hz).
2.2.3
Drilling the wall (figs. 5, 26)
Once the conditions described in chap. 2.2.2 have been satisfied, the wall must be drilled to fit the wall plugs that fix the boiler,
taking into account the distances shown in figure 5.
-
The boiler must be fixed to the wall in the chosen position using four wall plugs with bolts.
-
Make the holes for the wall plugs referring to the dimensions specified in fig. 31.
-
In any case a careful examination of the characteristics and consistency of the wall is necessary in order to choose the correct
wall plugs for specific situations.
WARNING: : the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any underestimation of the structural consistency of the fixings
made by the installer.
You are therefore advised to take the utmost care over this operation, which, if performed incorrectly, could cause serious
injury to persons or damage to property.
-
To make installation easier use two wall plugs with hooks to fix the top bracket. To anchor the boiler safely, the bottom bracket
must be fixed using two wall plugs with threaded pins, washers and lock nuts; the wall plug pins must pass through the relative
holes in the bracket.
2.2.4

Drilling pipe passage holes

If the connecting pipelines arrive from the rear wall of the boiler, it will be necessary to drill a hole in the wall for passage of the
pipes.
-
Drill the hole at the centre of the site of installation using an 8-10 mm bit and tilting it downward towards the outside by 5%.
Finish the hole with a 60 mm auger.
-
Fit the coolant lines and the communication cable with the UNICO BOILER MASTER unit through the hole.
2.2.5

Installation of unit

-
Hang the boiler onto the hooks on the wall as described in paragraph 2.2.3 on the top wall plugs and fix the bottom bracket
with a nut and washer.
-
Make sure the cable is disconnected from the power mains.
Make the pipe connections as described in par. 2.2.7.
