Description
Terminates the RAD A LLOCA nON parameter.
Specifies the blocking buffer size (K:BLOCK)
for all monitor blocked fi les in this system.
If
a
is input, the largest sector size of the
SYSGEN configuration is used.
This feature provides for saving the current
system envi ronment and memory contents on
the checkpoint area or on magnetic tape, in
the event of a criti cal system error.
Controls the frequency of the Clock 1 re-
ceiver and optionally disables RBMls use of
Clock 1. Clock 1 is used by RBM to invoke
software timeouts of I/o and provides for
date and time-of-day. Clockl is strongly
recommended and is automatically selected
by SYSGEN. Only if an installation can-
not allow for RBMls use of Clock 1 should a
value of zero be specified for n which wi"
prevent RBM
IS
use of the c lock and recover
the 100 cells of resident Monitor space. The
value n represents the reciprocal of the fre-
quency of the Clock 1 receiver and may be
any value in the range of 1

100 which
is an even divisor of 500 (Clock 1 has 2 ms
resolution).
If n is specified as other than
an even divisor of 500, the next lower even
divisor will be used (e.g., if n is specified
as 67, the clock receiver frequency wi" be
set to 1/50 second). The default value of
n is 10, which provides for a 1/10 second
Clockl receiver.

functions on character-oriented communica-
tion lines. The communication handler,
RCOC, must subsequently be loaded as a res-
ident foreground program (available under a
separate catalog number).
Th is feature provides foreground and back-
ground program debugging aids.
The DI
(Debug Input) and DO (Debug Output) de-
vi ces must be specified under .. DEVICE

This feature improves background and low-
priority foreground throughput by temporari Iy
dismissing a foreground task perform ing "I/O

This feature creates and maintains a disk
