Input Parameters
For example,
SP
=
30
SD
=
20
D1
=
100, FG
D2
=
200, BG
In the example given, areas SP, SD,
D 1, and D2 will receive the number
of tracks specified. SL, CP, and BT
will be default allocated (as de-
scribed in Chapter 3) on this same
device.
Desc ri pt i on
Any device controller capable of performing
seek overlap may not share a channel with
another controller.
The parameter i specifies the IOPtype. For
Sigma 3, an I refers to an Integral lOP, and
E to an External lOP. E is the default for a
32Ox, 7232, 7242, or 7246; otherwise I is
assumed. I or E must be input for a 720x or
725x. For Model 530, an I refers to IOPl
and E to IOP2.
If this parameter is not
used, an intervening comma before the
next parameter is necessary_
S indicates that this device is to receive the
system default allocations. If more than one
disk device is specified with the S parameter,
only the last
5
is recognized. If S is not
specified, the device to wh ich the SP area
is assigned (see below) will receive the de-
fault allocations. (Either an S must be spec-
Hi ed or the S P area must be defi ned. )
yy is an area mnemonic, usually from the
following:
SP
SD
SL
BT
CP
FP
BP
UP
UL
UD
Xn
aa
where n is a decimal digit and
a
is any letter
except X
~
(The combination "SKI! has a spe-
cial meaning and is not .a valid mnemonic. )
zz is the number of tracks to allocate on the
last specified disk device for area yy.
If
zz
=
0, area yy wi" be undefi ned, and an
additional Master Dictionary entry will be
available. If zz
=
ALL, the area will occupy
the remainder of the RAD and no other inputs
may be made for this RAD.
If SK
=
zz is
entered, zz tracks wi II be ski pped before the
next area is allocated. But to be meaningful,
another area must be input. If the first input
is not SK
=
zz, this RAD or disk will receive
a system bootstraptt in sector 0 and the next
area will actual-Iy begin in sector
1.
Ifno
areas are allocated on disk dn, however, no
bootstrap will be written.
wp is a write protection code for the set NO,
SY, FG, or BG. Th is option is not val id for
the SP, SD, SL, BT, CP, FP, or BP areas.
For all other areas, the default is SY.
tt If the system is to be saved on magnetic tape, the first area allocated on the disk from which the system is booted (i.e.,
the disk containing the effective bootstrap) must not be BT or CP.
