STEP 7.
Insert Ground Stake (J-7) through holes in tripod feet. Push
into ground to secure trap in place.
STEP 8.
COCKING AND FIRING TRAP (FIGS 7 thru 10).
WARNING: IMPACT FROM THE POWERFUL SPRING
LOADED THROWING ARM CAN CAUSE SEVERE PERSONAL
INJURY OR DEATH. OPERATE TRAP FROM REAR ONLY. STAY
CLEAR OF THROWING ARM AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT LEAVE
TRAP COCKED AND UNATTENDED.
Make sure all nuts and bolts are tightened securely. Check
Trigger and Ratchet Springs to assure they are properly
installed. Make sure all mounting hardware is securely
fastened. Once assembled, the Throwing Arm will be at a
12 o'clock position as viewed from the rear (FIG 8). To cock
the trap, grasp the Throwing Arm with your left hand while
holding the Trap Body Handle (L) with your right hand and
pull the Throwing Arm into the 6 o'clock position until the
tab at the end of Throwing Arm pushes up against the Trigger
Post (FIG 9).
WARNING: FAILURE TO KEEP HANDS AND BODY
OUTSIDE THE THROWING AREA PATH INDICATOR AREA
WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
The throwing arm can be released by either standing directly
behind the trap and pressing the Trigger or pulling the Release
String while standing behind the trap. (FIG 7) After the arm
has thrown the target, the arm will stop at approximately 9
o'clock position (FIG 10). Firmly grasp the Throwing Arm and
Trap Body Handle (L) again and repeat cocking and firing the
trap until you feel comfortable with the procedure.
