Setting up an Extra Handset

1) Plug the AC adapter into an outlet.
2) Remove the handset battery cover
by pressing on the indent and
sliding downward.
3) Place the new battery pack supplied with
your phone. Check for correct + - polarity
(see page 13).
4) Replace the battery cover by sliding
it upward.
5) Place the handset in the charge cradle,
and allow it to charge for 15-20 hours.
Registering an Extra Handset
If you purchase extra handsets, you need to register the handsets before use.
Only one handsets can be registered at a time.
An extension number for the supplied handset(s) was assigned at the factory,
which has #1 (#1 and #2 for DCT5260-2) on the display. When you register
additional handset to the base, handset ID will be assigned
An extra handset can be registered when the base is in the standby mode.
1) After charging the handset, remove the handset form the charger and place it in
the base.
2) Registration starts automatically.
While registering "Handset Registrating" appears.
3) When the registration is complete, "Registration complete" appears.
If the registration fails, "Registration Failed" appears. Try the steps above again.
