The envelopes can be either triggered or gated - making it either an ADE (Attack Decay
End) or an ASDE (Attack Sustain Decay End) envelope. The sustain phase does not have
an adjustable envelope level. It is instead the LEV parameter that sets the sustain level.
The note length defines the length of the sustain phase.
