10. Set Up the HandPunch Reader

1. Ensure that the HandPunch is connected properly to an outlet.
Result: The LCD displays the following:
ENTER ID
time date
2. On the HandPunch keypad, press Clear and Enter at the same
time.
3. At the Enter Password prompt, press 2, then Enter.
4. At the Set Language prompt, press * (No).
5. At the Set Date Format prompt, press * (No).
6. At the Set Time and Date prompt, press * (No).
7. At the Set Address prompt (Direct and Modem only), press #
(Yes), then enter the unique address number.
8. At the Set ID Length prompt, press * (No).
9. At the Set Serial prompt, press # (Yes).
10.Perform the following steps:
If the Reader Is
Connected directly to the
PC, or using a modem

Then:

1. At the Set RS-485/422
prompt, press # (Yes).
2. At the 9600 Baud
prompt, press # (Yes).
3. At the Set RS-232
prompt, press * (No).
