WAN, LAN, and ATM. What is the CellPipe 20A-USB? The CellPipe 20A-USB is an ADSL modem connected via the USB port on your computer. ADSL modems employ ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) framing. ATM is a protocol that divides packets into small fixed-sized cells for rapid transmission over high-speed networks.
Ethernet to share a common DSL connection to the Internet. CellPipe 20A-USB device drivers The CellPipe 20A-USB provides three types of device drivers: WAN, LAN, and ATM. All three drivers support ATM protocol. In addition, the ATM driver is compatible with ATM services available in recent Windows operating systems.

Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup Prior to driver installation, you might have to contact your DSL service provider to obtain pertinent information if you do not plan to use the default settings provided.
Device driver software installation 1. Plug in the CellPipe 20A-USB to your computer and for Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, and Windows 2000 operating systems, your system will detect the CellPipe 20A-USB modem. Wait for the process to complete.

Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup 3. In the next “Found New Hardware Wizard” window, select the Search for a suitable driver for my device option. Click Next. 4. In the next “Found New Hardware Wizard” window, you are asked to specify a location for the new driver software.

Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup 8. The next “Found New Hardware Wizard” window confirms that the device driver software has been installed. Click Finish. 9. The Lucent 20A-USB MODEM Setup program is initiated to help you with the setup of the appropriate modem on your computer.

Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup 11. The “Configuration” window allows you to specify your connection configuration. If your setting is not listed, select Configuration. Click Next. 12. Select the type of driver to be installed from the “Select Driver Type” window. Click Next.

Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup 13. Enter the VPI, VCI, select Encapsulation type and Modulation type (for WAN modem) in the “Communication Settings” window. Click Next. Note: Encapsulation types vary depending upon the application. 14. The “Start Copying Files” window displays. You may review the current settings and click Customize or Back to change the settings.

Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup 15. The “Setup Complete” window indicates the necessary files have been copied to your computer. Click Finish. The program will attempt to detect your hardware and complete the installation process. 16. Several informational windows are displayed informing you on the progress of the installation of the modem.
Chapter 4 Customizing Communication Settings Chapter 4 Customizing Communication Settings Once the CellPipe 20A-USB software has been installed, the communication settings can be updated. 1. From your Desktop, click Start – Programs – Lucent 20A-USB Modem – Configure. 2. Click Settings from the “ADSL Modem Installer” window.

2. The “Physical Link” tab of the “Lucent 20A-USB Modem” window allows you to review the current state of CellPipe 20A-USB connection. The green indicator in the Link Status field signifies that a connection has been completed.

The “System Info” tab displays the release number of the Lucent ADSL modem driver, the firmware release number, and the control panel version that you are currently running. 4. The “Configuration” tab displays the appropriate Modulation, Encapsulation, and VPI and VCI values when using a LAN driver.

Consult with your network administrator to determine the option best that best suits your needs.
Chapter 7 Modifying TCP/IP Options – LAN USB Driver • To add a new gateway, type in the address and click Add. The new gateway will appear in Installed gateways. • To remove a previously installed gateway, highlight the entry to be removed in the Installed gateways list and click Remove.

CellPipe 20A-USB supports PPPoE by using the LAN driver in conjunction with third-party Ethernet software. The installation procedure is as follows: 1. Install CellPipe 20A-USB as a LAN (RFC1483) driver by following the steps detailed in Chapter 3 CellPipe 20A-USB Software Setup, the section for Device driver software installation.
