• Do not touch the connector.
• Before removing the M.2 solid-state drive, make a backup copy of all the information on it, and then turn
off the computer.
• Never remove the M.2 solid-state drive while the computer is operating, in sleep mode, or in hibernation
mode.
Your computer has two M.2 solid-state drive slots. Ensure that you select the correct M.2 solid-state drive
when you configure the system settings in ThinkPad Setup.

To replace the M.2 solid-state drive, do the following:
1. Disconnect the ac power from the computer and turn off the computer. Close the computer display and
turn the computer over.
2. Remove the removable battery. See "Replacing the removable battery" on page 113.
3. Remove the bottom cover. See "Replacing the bottom cover" on page 116.
4. Remove the screw that secures the M.2 solid-state drive.
Note: A Mylar film might cover the solid-state drive. To access the solid-state drive, open the film first.
