If the radiator is too cold check that the radiator valves are open to a high enough level.(Anti-
clockwise)
A room may become warm enough without the radiator being more than lukewarm.

Is the thermostat set too low?

Check that the temperature on the thermostat is set high enough to start the heat pump.

Is the mains power switched off?

Check that the heating switches are switched ON, including the switch located next to the outdoor unit.

Does the Heating seem to be using more electricity?

In the colder weather you may hear the unit cycling, even though neither the heating or hot water
are in use. This is simply the unit drawing heat from the interior to prevent it freezing.

Should the heating be switched on overnight?

It should be remembered that unlike electric heating this system is not instant. It is better to just
turn the heating down a couple of degrees when you go to bed so that when you get up it does
not have to work as hard as it would if it had been switched off. In particularly cold weather this
will be even more apparent as the system will cycle from heating to defrost a lot if it has to
work harder.
A suggested daytime setting is 20degC and turned down to no lower than 15degC at night.
In the event you have checked the points above,
and the system still fails to operate normally, you can manually reset the system by turning off
the power, waiting 60 seconds then turning it back on.
If the system still does not operate as normal,
check the display on the controller for a fault code (typically a number and a letter for example 7H)
and contact your landlord, making reference to the displayed code.
If your Landlord cannot be contacted, phone Ice Energy on
will be initially dealt with by the technical support. If it is heat pump related then it is for Ice Energy
to attend. If not e.g. distribution failure, this will be for a local plumber.
