Engineering Maximum ambient temperatures DANGER Explosion hazard due to too high temperature in the cabinet! Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries! • Install and adjust the cabinet in such a way that it is always operated within the permissible temperature range. Depending on the mounting orientation, there is a maximum ambient temperature T for the output current I of a fieldbus power supply.

Mounting and installation 8.2.2 Mounting / dismounting of the device on top hat rail and pac-Bus Mounting on DIN rail is not possible with Type 9412/0.-300! • Position the device on the DIN rail. The cut-out of the enclosure must be positioned on the outside edge of the DIN rail.
Mounting and installation 8.2.4 Mount Fieldbus Power Supply on bus-Carrier The bus-Carrier can be mounted on a mounting plate or a DIN rail according to EN 50022, Type NS35/7.5 or NS 35/15. See operating instructions 9419 bus-Carrier for further installation notes. Installation 8.3.1 Installation of the Fieldbus Power Supply in Simplex mode on the DIN rail with and without pac-Bus.

Mounting and installation The connections Red.1 and Red.2 must not be used in the Simplex mode (see chapter "In- stallation of Fieldbus Power Supply in redundant operation or Boost operation on a DIN rail with and without pac-Bus"). 8.3.2 Installation of Fieldbus Power Supply during redundant operation or Boost operation on a DIN rail with and without pac-Bus Boost or redundant operation is only possible with Types 9412/0.--310 or 9412/0.--320! The wiring of the trunk and host connections during redundant operation can be carried out...

• Install the data connection between two Fieldbus Power Supplies (see chapter "Installation"). • Before activation of the Boost mode, check the segment using the Fieldbus Wizard by R. STAHL (see chapter "Accessories and spare parts"). • Set the DIP switch "BOOST" in both Fieldbus Power Supplies to "ON".
Operation Operation 10.1 Operating Modes Simplex operation In simplex operation, one fieldbus power supply supplies one segment with energy. If the fieldbus power supply or trunk is overloaded or short-circuited, an error message is output via a relay contact. The fieldbus power supply continues to operate normally in overload operation up to about 540 mA.

Operation 10.4 Diagnosis The external auxiliary power supply and the general device status will be monitored in all Fieldbus Power Supplies and displayed via LEDs or a relay contact. All Fieldbus Power Supplies measure the electrical parameters (Physical Layer) of the fieldbus, such as cur- rent/voltage levels, signal levels, noise, jitter and shielding short circuit.
Page 22
Operation Symmetry Here symmetry denotes the voltage-symmetrical power supply, relative to the reference potential (earth). Deviations give an indication of the quality of the shielding. In industrial use, values of up to 20 % can be expected, in which the line length plays an important role.

Operation HyperTerminal setup The configuration file "9412-Advanced Diagnose.ht" can be downloaded from http:// www.stahl.de/produkte-und-systeme/feldbustechnik.html. After clicking this file, the Hy- perTerminal will be automatically configured and opened. Alternatively, the HyperTerminal connection can also be set manually. As standard, the connection between the Fieldbus Power Supply and the PC is estab- lished via the "COM1"...
