Using Eco Mode
This function allows you to conserve battery power in Shooting mode.
When the camera is not in use, the screen quickly darkens to reduce
battery consumption.

Configure the setting.
Choose [Eco Mode] on the [ 2] tab, and
z
then choose [On].
[
] is now shown on the shooting
z
screen ( = 204).
The screen darkens when the camera
z
is not used for approximately two
seconds; approximately ten seconds
after darkening, the screen turns off.
The camera turns off after approximately
three minutes of inactivity.

Shoot.
To activate the screen and prepare for
z
shooting when the screen is off but the
lens is still out, press the shutter button
halfway.
Power-Saving Adjustment
Adjust the timing of automatic deactivation of the camera, screen, and
viewfinder (Auto Power Down, Display Off, and Viewfinder Off ( = 27)).
Choose [Power Saving] on the [ 2] tab,

and then press the [
Choose an item, press the [
z
and then press the [ ][ ] buttons or turn
the [ ] dial to configure the setting.
●
[Display Off] and [Auto Power Down] cannot be configured when
Eco Mode ( = 173) is set to [On].
Screen Brightness
Screen and viewfinder brightness can be set separately. Before
adjustment, make sure the display to adjust is activated.
Choose [ 2] tab > [Disp. Brightness],
z
press the [
the [ ][ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to
adjust the brightness.

For maximum brightness, press and hold the [
least one second. (This will override the [Disp. Brightness] setting
on the [ 2] tab.) To restore the original brightness, press and
hold the [
] button again for at least one second or restart the
camera.
