POST and boot specifications

When the switch is turned on or rebooted, the switch performs a power-on, self-test (POST). Total
boot time with POST can be several minutes. POST can be omitted after subsequent reboots by
using the fastboot command or entering the no diag post command to persistently disable POST.

Status of hardware
Assembly is not receiving power
or is turned off.
Assembly is operating normally.
One of the following may have
occurred:
Mismatched airflow on
power supply and fan
assembly.
One or more of the fans in
the fan assembly has failed
or the power supply has
failed.
The power cord has been
unplugged.
An internal fault has occurred in
the power supply or fan
assembly.
The fault has occurred for one of
the following reasons:
The power supply and fan
assembly was disabled by
the user.
The power supply power
switch has been turned off
or the unit has been
unplugged.
Note: When the switch is first
powered on, the power supply
and fan assembly status LED will
show amber until POST has
completed.
Recommended action
Verify the assembly is on and seated
and the power cord is connected to a
functioning power source.
No action required.
Take one of the following actions:
Replace power supply and fan
assembly with a power supply and
fan assembly that has correct
airflow direction.
Replace the power supply and fan
assembly.
Check the power plug.
Replace the power supply and fan
assembly.
Verify that the power supply and
fan assembly is enabled.
Check the power switch and plug.
