The Printer Does Not Print

Ready light is off

Cause
The printer is offline.
Some error may have occurred.
The power cord may not be properly plugged into the
electrical outlet.
The printer is in the power off mode (All lights go out).

The ready light is on

Cause
The printer is paused or offline (Windows)
The interface cable may not be plugged in securely.
You may not be using the correct interface cable.
Your application software is not properly set up for
your printer.
Your computer system's memory is too small to handle
the volume of data in your document.
Troubleshooting
What to do
Press the Pause/Release button (for AL-M320DN/AL-M220DN), or
press the OK button (for AL-M220DN), once to switch the printer to a
ready status. Make sure that the Ready light turns on.
For AL-M320DN/AL-M310DN, if an error message appears, see
"Status and Error Messages on the Control Panel (for AL-M320DN/
AL-M310DN)" on page
For AL-M310DN, if an error light is on or flashing, see
Error Lights (for AL-M220DN)" on page
Turn off the printer, check the power cord connections between the
printer and the electrical outlet, then turn the printer back on.
Turn on the printer by pressing the power switch. For AL-M320DN/
AL-M310DN, pressing the Wakeup/Sleep button also makes the
printer available for printing.
To not enter the power off mode, access Energy Saver Menu, and
set both Power Off if Inactive and Power Off If
Disconnected to Off.
What to do
If you stop printing or the printer stops printing because of some
error, the printer or status of the print manager changes to Pause
Printing. You cannot print in this status.
1. Click Start - Devices and Printers.
2. Select the icon for the printer and open the Printer menu from the
Print Jobs display. Clear the checks from Pause Printing and Use
Printer Offline.
Check both ends of the interface cable between the printer and the
computer.
Use a cable that matches the specifications of the printer. Confirm
that there are not breaks in the cable.
If you are using the USB interface, use a cable that is compatible with
Hi-Speed USB.
Make sure that the printer is selected in your application software.
Try reducing the image resolution of your document in the
application software, or install more memory in your computer if you
can.
