PEDAL SUSTAIN, MANUAL BASS

A popular option for playing the Pedals or Manual Bass is Pedal Sustain, which allows
the Pedal voice to smoothly decay upon release, much in the manner of a string bass.
Using the lowest note of the keyboard, you can play the PEDAL part together (Man-
ual Bass).
[P. SUS] button
To engage the PEDAL SUSTAIN, press the [P. SUS] button and the light will go ON.
After releasing your foot from the Pedal keyboard (or, if you release your finger from the
Manual keyboard when you are using the Manual Bass function) (= explained later in
this manual), the sound will slowly fade, or decay.
NOTE: You can control the decay time of the Pedal Sustain. (P. 75)
[M. BASS] button
To engage the Manual Bass function, press the [M. BASS] button and the light will go
ON.
e keyboard that functions as the Manual Bass is the keyboard itself if it is on the SK1
stand-alone, and the Lower keyboard if the Lower keyboard is added to the SK1 or SK2.
e default range of the MANUAL BASS is up to the middle "B".
NOTE: You can change the highest note range of the MANUAL BASS (P. 108 #2).
NOTE: You can select the MANUAL BASS play chords or only the lowest note (P. 108 #1).
COUPLER
Like the Manual Bass or the Lower to Pedal
(only on the SK2), the function to set a key-
board to play two keyboards together is called
"COUPLER".
