Ringing Scenarios
Auto Attendant
The Auto Attendant can be set to All EXT Off, All EXT On, or AA Only
All Extensions Ringing Off
When set to All EXT Off, none of the telephones will ring, even if they are
programmed to ring, and when the AA Answer Delay timer expires, the call will
be forwarded to the Auto Attendant.
All Extensions Ringing On
When set to All EXT on, all of the telephones that are programmed to ring will
ring. If the call goes unanswered, the call will be forwarded to the Auto
Attendant when the AA Answer Delay timer expires.
AA Only
AA Only, only the extension defined as the attendant (301 at default) will ring
until the AA Answer Delay Timer expires. If the timer is set to 10 seconds, for
example, the attendant extension will ring up to two times before the auto
attendant answers.
Ringing
Each extension may be programmed to ring or not ring, depending on the
telephones programming. However, the Auto Attendant must be set to "All EXT
On" to allow extensions to ring before the auto attendant answers the call. The
telephones will ring unit the AA Answer Delay Timer expires. The AA Answer
Delay Timer can be set from 06 seconds to 240 seconds.
Common Ringing
Auto Attendant Ring – Set to "All EXT Ring On" to allow all programmed
telephones to ring before the call is forwarded to Auto Attendant.
Auto Attendant Ring – Set to "All EXT Ring Off" to stop any telephone from
ringing, thus allowing the Auto Attendant to answer when the AA Answer Delay
timer expires.
AA Only – Only the Attendant will ring, and then the call will be forwarded to the
Auto Attendant.
