MAINTENANCE
Lubrication

Jackshaft Bearing Greasing

Loosen the driven clutch retaining bolt
and pull the clutch outward to expose the
bearing and grease fitting. Inject grease
into the grease fitting in the flangette
until grease purges from inside or
outside the bearing seal (may take only
two pumps). Push the clutch back onto
the shaft and replace the clutch retaining bolt. Torque to 18 ft. lbs.
(24.4 Nm).

Driveshaft Bearing Greasing

Inject grease into the fitting on the
speedometer drive adaptor until grease
purges from inside or outside the
bearing seal (approximately two pumps).

Throttle Cable

Lubricate the throttle cable (1) lightly
with grease or oil. With the engine off,
turn the handlebars to the left and
lubricate liberally as shown.

Choke and Cable

Lubricate the choke slide (2) and cables

lightly with oil or grease. Before
turning the engine off, operate the choke
intermittently to draw moisture out of
the choke plunger area and reduce the
possibility of the choke becoming
frozen.
