Starting the Engine
Starting a Cold Engine (Electric Start)
Do not depress the throttle
until the engine starts.
1. Flip choke toggle to
FULL ON.
2. Pull kill switch (shut-off
switch) up to RUN.
3. Turn key to START and
crank engine.
4. After the engine starts,
release the key to ON
and flip the choke toggle
to OFF. If the engine
slows or wants to stop,
use intermittent choking
to HALF ON.

Starting a Warm Engine

1. Turn key to ON.
2. Pull kill switch (shut-off switch) up to RUN.
3. Grasp starter handle and pull slowly until recoil engages; then pull
to start.
If the engine does not start on the first pull, slightly depress the throttle
with your left hand (no more than 1/4" open), and pull the rope with
your right hand. When the engine starts, immediately release the
throttle.
