Blinking LED Lights Indicate Error Conditions
LED lights do not turn on at all.
Make sure you have installed the batteries correctly. Check battery contacts page 43.
Led Lights on, but no scanner light.
Batteries are weak, replace with 4 new batteries.
Error
Data buffer full
3 blinks
during scan This condition indicates that the DocuPen™ 's data
scan buffer is full, and you will not be able to scan
further. If there is enough available space left in the
buffer, the device will attempt to save the scanned
data in the DocuPen™ 's memory bank.
Not enough space available in memory bank
4 blinks after This condition indicates that the DocuPen™ 's memory
scan bank is full, and the scanned image cannot be saved.
You must download the DocuPen™ 's memory bank,
erase the scan memory, and re-scan the image.
Not enough space available in memory bank
This condition indicates that the DocuPen™ 's memory
5 blinks at
bank is full, and the scanned image cannot be saved.
scan start You must download the DocuPen™ 's memory bank,
and erase the scan memory.
Power lost during last erase operation
6 blinks This condition indicates that during the previous erase
when you operation, the DocuPen™ lost power and,
turn on the consequently, its calibration values have been lost.
DocuPen™ This may be due to weak batteries. Change batteries if
required. Before resuming scanning, you must upload
the calibration values to the DocuPen™. See
instructions on page 43.
