Common Precautions
・USIM Card/SD Card Tray
Be sure to firmly insert USIM Card/SD Card Tray. A minute
particle (such as a hair) in the contact surfaces may cause
intrusion of water. Never insert or remove USIM Card/SD
Card Tray with your gloves on. A minute particle (such as a
hair) in the contact surfaces may cause intrusion of water.
When inserting Tray, wipe off any water droplets or dirt
with a clean dry cloth, if there are any.
The waterproof property is not maintained when USIM
Card/SD Card Tray is deteriorated or damaged. If it is
deteriorated or damaged, contact the nearest SoftBank
shop.
・In Case Handset Is Stained with Anything Other than Water
When handset gets stained with anything other than water
(such as sea water, detergent, or alcohol), rinse handset
immediately with water.
Rinse off with tap water at room temperature (5℃ to
35℃), 10 cm away from the faucet or shower head, at
a slightly weaker flow (6 liters/minute or less). In case
handset is stained, rinse off by hand (do not use a brush),
holding USIM Card/SD Card Tray so that Tray will not come
off.
・In Case Handset Is Wet
In case handset is wet, drain water from handset, and wipe
off with a clean dry cloth.
In a cold region, water droplets on handset may freeze.
Using handset under this condition might cause a fault. Do
not leave handset without wiping off the water droplets.
(There is no special measure for condensation on this
handset.)
・Rubber Seal
Rubber seal around USIM Card/SD Card Tray helps maintain
the waterproof property. Do not damage or remove rubber
seal.
Make sure rubber seal does not get caught when inserting
USIM Card/SD Card Tray. Forcing closed with rubber seal
pinched can damage seal and degrade waterproof property.
A minute particle (such as a hair) may cause intrusion of
water.
If handset gets stained with any liquid other than fresh
water or tap water at room temperature (5℃ to 35℃) (such
as warm water, seawater, detergent, chemicals, sweat, etc.),
the waterproof property may be degraded.
Do not insert a sharp-pointed object in between USIM
Card/SD Card Tray. Doing so damages/deforms handset or
damages rubber seal, and may cause intrusion of water.
The waterproof property cannot be maintained when
the required parts are deteriorated or damaged. It is
recommended to annually replace the parts required to
maintain the waterproof property, regardless of the
presence of abnormalities. Contact the nearest SoftBank
shop.
Some parts may be repaired at a charge.
・Charging
Never start charging when this handset is wet.
Packaged accessories and options have no waterproof
property.
・Waterproofing
Do not use handset in places where it may be sprayed with
high-pressure water (near a faucet or showerhead), as
handset is not designed to withstand high water pressure.
Also, do not expose handset to a water flow stronger than
the specified flow rate (6 liters per minute from a faucet or
showerhead, i.e. which is a strong enough spray to hurt your
skin). Doing so might cause a fault, even though handset has
waterproof properties equivalent to IPX7.
Do not wash handset in a washing machine or ultrasonic
cleaner.
・Heat-Resistance
Do not use handset in places where boiling water may splash
on it, sauna or near hot air (e.g. hair dryer). This handset is
not resistant to high temperature.
・Shock
This handset is not resistant to shock. Do not drop handset
or subject it to shock. Also, do not poke Earpiece, Mic
(microphone), or Speaker with a cotton swab or any sharp
object. Doing so damages/deforms handset, and may cause
intrusion of water or fine particulates.
Drying Handset
If you continue to use handset after it gets wet, water
remaining in it might wet your clothes or bag, or sounds might
become hard to hear.
Follow the steps below to drain water.
Wipe off the water on handset with a dry towel or cloth
Hold handset firmly with External Device Port facing upward,
and shake it a few times
Place it on a dry towel or cloth and leave it for about 2 to 3
hours at room temperature
・If handset is not dry enough, its sound may still be hard to
hear. Leave handset to dry enough before use.
Charging
Packaged accessories and options have no waterproof
properties. Check below before starting charging, or after
finishing charging:
・Never start charging when this handset is wet. Doing so
might cause electric shock or short-circuit resulting in a
fire, fault or burns.
・Check to see if this handset is wet or not. Before charging a
wet handset, drain water sufficiently and wipe handset with
a clean dry cloth.
・Use specified AC Charger in a water-free environment. Do
not use it in areas where water is used such as bathrooms,
shower rooms, kitchens, and lavatories. Doing so might
cause a fire, electric shock, fault, or injury. In addition,
do not bring handset into a bathroom, etc., even when not
charging with it. Doing so might cause a fire, electric shock,
fault, or injury.
