Waterproofing/Dustproofing

This handset has a protection rating (JIS C 0920) for
waterproof property equivalent to IPX7 and dustproof
property equivalent to IP6X on the condition that USIM Card/
SD Card Tray is fully inserted.
IPX7 equivalent: This means that handset will not be intruded
by water and maintains its performance as a phone even after
it has been placed and left undisturbed at the bottom of a
water tank of depth 1 m, filled with still tap water at room
temperature, for about 30 minutes.
IP6X equivalent: This means that handset securely maintains
its performance as a phone even after it has been placed in an
apparatus with grit and dust of diameters of 75 μm or less
agitated for 8 hours.
Note that the dustproof property is not guaranteed in every
usage condition. Malfunctions determined to be caused by
the customer mishandling handset are not covered by the
warranty.
Important Notices for Use
・Do not immerse in any liquid such as the following.
-soap water, detergent or bath additive
-sea water, pool, hot spa
-liquid other than water (such as alcohol)
・Be sure to firmly insert USIM Card/SD Card Tray.
-The waterproof property is ensured when it is fully
inserted.
-A minute particle (such as a hair) in the contact surfaces
between handset and Tray may cause intrusion of water.
-Never insert/remove USIM Card/SD Card Tray when your
hand or this handset is wet.

・Do not put handset directly on sand at a beach, etc. Sand
or other small particles might get inside Earpiece, Mic
(microphone) or Speakers, causing the volume to drop. If
sand gets inside handset, it might cause overheating or
fault.
・Do not leave handset in humid places like bathrooms and
kitchens for a long time.
・There may be water in handset after it has got wet. Shake
handset to clear the water. Especially, clear the water
inside Power Key, Volume Keys, and External Device Port.
・There may be some water remaining in handset even after it
has been cleared. It is not a problem to use handset, but do
not place anything nearby that you do not want to get wet.
Also, note that your clothing and bag may get wet.
・Clear the water if it gets inside Mic (microphone) or
Earpiece temporarily preventing you from hearing sounds.

Notes on Various Usage Scenes
In the rain: Make calls holding handset with wet hands in the
rain without an umbrella.
・The rain in this case means moderately-heavy rain (less than
20 mm per hour).
・Water drops on Display might cause errors in Touchscreen
operations.
・Never insert/remove USIM Card/SD Card Tray if handset
is exposed to rain, water droplets are on the surface of
handset or your hands are wet.
Shower: Make calls holding handset with wet hands after
taking a shower.
・Avoid spraying handset with high pressure water, as
handset is not designed to withstand high water pressure.
Washing: Wash handset under a mild flow (less than 6 liters
per minute) of tap water at room temperature (5℃ to 35℃)
at a distance of about 10 cm from the faucet or showerhead.
・Do not spray handset with high-pressure water or submerge
it in water for extended periods of time, as handset is not
designed to withstand high water pressure.
・Wash handset with your hands without using a brush or
sponge while holding USIM Card/SD Card Tray so that it
does not come off.
・Do not wash handset in a washing machine or ultrasonic
cleaner.
・Do not splash handset with or immerse it in liquid other
than tap water, such as soap water, detergent water, etc.
In the bath: Use handset in a bath. Although calling with wet
hands is available, do not immerse handset into a bathtub.
Handset is not resistant to high temperature.
・Do not use handset in a bathroom for an extended period of
time. Handset is not moisture proof.
・Extreme changes in temperature cause condensation. Wait
until handset reaches the room temperature before you
bring handset from a cold place into a warm bathroom.
・If condensation occurs inside Display, leave handset at room
temperature for a while until the condensation is cleared.
・Do not splash handset with hot water. Handset is not
resistant to high temperature.
In the kitchen: Use handset in the kitchen and other places
where water is used.
・Do not splash handset with liquid other than tap water,
such as soap water, detergent water, seasonings, juice, etc.
・Do not immerse handset in or splash it with boiling water.
Handset is not resistant to high temperature.
・Do not place handset where it gets extremely hot or cold
such as near a stove or in a refrigerator.
