Displays all the information needed to operate your phone, such as the Touchscreen call status, the Contacts list, and the date and time.

When reinserting the tray, make sure it is facing up so that your cards don't fall out. Hold the tray with the outer card holder between your fingers, and then steadily slide the tray all the way into the slot.
6. Make sure the tray is fully inserted and doesn't protrude from the slot. SD Card Use a SD card (optional and sold separately) to store your photos, videos, and music. When you need to free up phone storage space, you can also move certain apps to the storage card, if the apps support this feature.

Complete the Setup Screens When you switch on the HTC U11 for the first time, or after you've done a factory reset, you'll need to set it up. The setup screens help you set up certain features and preferences on your phone.

Water and Dust Resistant HTC U11 is water and dust resistant and has an IP57 rating as defined in the International Standard IEC 60529. With the nano SIM/microSD slot cover closed tightly, this phone is water resistant if it is briefly submerged by accident in fresh water less than 1 meter (3.28 feet) deep and no longer than 30 minutes...
When the phone is wet, make sure to dry it thoroughly. To avoid damaging HTC U11, don't charge the phone when contaminants are present or the USB port is not completely dry. In these circumstances, do not connect any external device.

Rinsing ● Before rinsing, make sure the nano SIM and microSD slot covers are closed tightly. See Card SD Card for details. ● Rinse the phone using fresh water. Rinse by hand only. Don't use a brush or sponge. ● While rinsing, do not press on the card slot covers to avoid having gaps around the covers which may allow water to seep through the gaps.

Onscreen Navigation Keys Your phone has onscreen navigation keys at the bottom of the screen which rotate when you change the orientation. Request a Refund for a Paid App If you are not satisfied with an app, you can ask for a refund within 15 minutes of the purchase. Your credit card is not charged and the app is uninstalled from your phone. If you change your mind, you can install the app again, but you can’t request a refund a second time.
Google Play. Edge Sense Edge Sense provides an intuitive way to interact with HTC U11 by simply squeezing its lower sides. Customize Edge Sense to quickly access your favorite app or shortcut, such as launching the Camera app, typing with your voice, capturing screenshots, and more.
Take Camera Shots Using Edge Sense Instantly launch the camera and begin taking shots. 1. Squeeze the lower sides of HTC U11 to open the Camera app. 2. Squeeze again to take a photo. Note: Squeezing your phone will open the Camera app in the last capture mode you were using. When you squeeze again, the camera takes a photo, video, or selfie, depending on the capture mode.
Note: If you want your phone to detect your squeeze only when the display is on, clear the Enable gesture when screen is off option. 4. Tap to save your setting. Tip: You can also assign one more action for Edge Sense. For details, see Enable Advanced Mode.
Set Up HTC Sense Companion When setting up HTC Sense Companion for the first time, sign in to your HTC Account so that HTC Sense Companion can link to all HTC apps and services. This allows you to get better recommendations and information tailored to your needs.
View the Detail Cards After you've set up HTC Sense Companion, it needs some time to learn from your daily phone usage and activities before it can provide suggestions and information. When it starts to display them as detail cards, here are ways you can view the cards.
Fingerprint Scanner You can quickly wake up and unlock the phone using your fingerprint. You can add up to 5 fingerprints. When setting up and using the fingerprint scanner, follow these tips: ● Make sure your finger and the fingerprint scanner are dry and clean. ●...

Some app updates are available from HTC or Sprint, and you'll receive notifications on your phone when there are new updates. Or you can install app updates from Google Play. Some HTC apps that are not preloaded in certain phones can also be downloaded from Google Play.
Signal during update: Update your phone where signal reception is good, and do not change location during the update process. Make sure the battery is adequately charged before beginning an update. A weak signal or low battery during an update may cause the update to fail. An update failure may disable the phone.

Choose to set a screen lock pattern, numeric PIN, or other means of securing your phone. You’ll be asked to unlock the screen every time HTC U11 is turned on or when it’s idle for a certain period of time.
