Installing Microsoft Windows
System
Use the following procedure to set up and perform a clean Windows 2000
Operating System installation on your server.
1. Power on your system.
2. The Power On Self-Test (POST) execution results are displayed on the
screen.
3. When the "NEC" logo appears, press Esc.
4. Wait for the following message to appear on the bottom left-hand side of the
screen.
Press F2 to enter SETUP
5. Press F2 to enter SETUP. In BIOS SETUP perform the following:
Select Advanced

Select Installed O/S
!
Set to PnP O/S
!
Select Exit (Save Changes & Exit) or (Exit Saving Changes).

Select Yes to reboot the system.

6. System reboots.
Insert the Windows
boot your system.
If a bootable operating system has been previously installed on the hard disk
the message "Press any key to boot from CD"is displayed at the top of the
screen. Press any key. If no bootable operating system exists on the hard
disk, this step is not necessary.
7. The "Windows 2000 setup screen appears."
8. Windows 2000 continues in its regular manner according to the subsequent
messages that appear.

9. After the installation of Windows 2000 has been completed, logon to the
system using the administrator account or other account, which is a member
of the administrators group.
10. Execute "\W2K\Update.exe" from the "NEC Update Module" Diskette.
11. The installation is completed.
