Air flows into the Intake Air Duct Kit through the front vent and out through the fans at the rear of the unit.
This Intake Air Duct Kit is required for the following and later-model line cards:
48x10GT
27x40GbE
6x100GbE
Any updates to these instructions will be added to the hardware installation guide for your product.
NOTE
Hardware devices illustrated in these procedures are only for reference and may not depict the device you are installing into the
rack.

Safety precautions

DANGER
Use safe lifting practices when moving the product.
DANGER
Mount the devices you install in a rack as low as possible. Place the heaviest device at the bottom and progressively place
lighter devices above.
CAUTION
Make sure the airflow around the front, sides, and back of the device is not restricted.
CAUTION
Use the screws specified in the procedure. Using longer screws can damage the device.
CAUTION
Never leave tools inside the chassis.
CAUTION
Do not use the port cover tabs to lift the module. They are not designed to support the weight of the module, which can fall and
be damaged.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the chassis and components, never attempt to lift the chassis using the fan or power supply handles.
These handles were not designed to support the weight of the chassis.

Time and items required

Allow approximately one hour to unpack and install the air duct kit in a rack.
The following tools are required when installing the air duct kit:
Torque wrench with #2 Phillips screwdriver tip
Flathead screwdriver
