Making Settings with the Setup Navigator
Setting the type of amplifier to be connected (amplifier's 96 kHz
compatibility)
Here set whether or not the amplifier connected to the player is 96 kHz
compatible. When an option is selected, 96 kHz or 48 kHz (96 kHz=48 kHz)
linear PCM audio is set automatically.

Use the cursor buttons (5/∞) to
select the amplifier's 96 kHz
compatibility, then press the
ENTER button.

Digital jack not compatible with 96 kHz

• No: Select this when the amplifier
connected to the player is not 96 kHz
compatible. When this is selected, the
96 kHz signals are down-sampled to
48 kHz before being output from the
digital output jack.
• Yes: Select this when the amplifier or
D/A converter connected to the player
is 96 kHz compatible. When this is
selected, 96 kHz linear PCM signals
are output from the digital output jack.
Note however that it is not possible to
output 96 kHz digital audio signals from
some discs recorded in 96 kHz.
• Don't know: Select this if you do not
know whether the amplifier connected
to the player is 96 kHz compatible or
not. When this is selected, the 96 kHz
signals are down-sampled to 48 kHz
before being output from the digital
output jack.
