SECTION 7 - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM
This optional oxygen system for air taxi and commerical operations
provides supplementary oxygen for the crew and passengers to meet the
requirements of FAR 135.89 and 135.157. Actual compliance with the
regulation is the responsibility of the operator as established by the FAA for
the particular operation. This oxygen system is equipped with two crew
masks and outlets and six passenger masks and outlets.
The system is operated and monitored from the cockpit. Before taking
off for flight at high altitude, ascertain that the oxygen supply is adequate for
the proposed flight and that the passengers are briefed. An oxygen supply
pressure gauge is mounted on the lower left instrument panel and displays
the storage cylinder pressure of 1850 PSIG-full; 200 PSIG-empty at 70°F
(21°C).
If
oxygen should be required, the system is activated by moving the ON-
O FF oxygen control knob to its stop-ON position, located on the lower left
instrument panel. Moving the control knob to the right opens the on/ off
valve at the oxygen cylinder and allows the flow of oxygen to the regulator
valve.
