SECTION 4
NORMAL PROCEDURES
(pressurized) position, and the cabin pressure control (Test/Dump) switch
should be in the NORM AL position. If the Emergency Gear Extender cover
has been opened, make sure it is closed securely. With the cabin now being
pressurized, switch OFF the ECS bypass and set the altitude selector to the
desired cabin altitude.
For repressurization above 10,000 feet, the following procedure should
be used. Switch ON the ECS Bypass and select 10,000 feet on the cabin
controller. Make sure both bleed air switches are ON, and switch the ECS
Select to LOW. To make the cabin ready for pressurization, check that the
Cabin Air control is moved to the PRESS (pressurized) position, the Test
Dump switch is on NORMAL, and the Emergency Gear extender cover is
closed slowly(usea pen or pencil etc ... under the door when the door is near
its seat and slowly remove the object). Turn the ECS Bypass OFF, and set
the cabin controller to the required altitude.
4.41 ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION
Environmental system controls and switches are located in the lower
right-hand corner of the instrument panel in the Cabin Comfort Panel.
(Refer to Section 7, Figure 7-31.)
The environmental system controls and switches are as follows:
(a) Mode Switch (manual or auto)
(b) Manual Heat/Cool Switch
(c) Cabin Fan Switch
(d) ECS Select Switch (High or Low bleed)
(e) ECS Bypass Switch
NORMAL OPERATION
When the Mode switch is in AUTO, the environmental control system
will automatically maintain a preset temperature during normal conditions.
When operating the system the ECS Select may be in either HI or LOW
depending on the response needed. The temperature can be controlled by the
COOL/WARM thermostatic control, while air flow in the cabin can be
controlled by the Cabin Fan switch in HI or LOW as desired. For proper
operation, both Bleed Air switches must be ON.
