OF THE AIRPLANE AND ITS SYSTEMS
7.1 THE AIRPLANE
The PA-31 T2 Cheyenne ll XL is a twin-engine, retractable landing gear,
low wing, turbine-powered airplane. Its pressurized cabin has a variety of
optional arrangements and furnishings to serve the needs of the owner.
7.3 AIRFRAME
The primary structure is constructed of metal. The nose, the tail cone,
some fairings, and some extremities - the tips of the stabilizer and the tip of
the vertical fin - are fiberglass.
The fuselage is an all metal, semi-monocoque structure with riveted
skin.
It
consists of three basic units: the nose section, the pressurized cabin
section, and the tail section. The cabin section is sealed to maintain
pressurization.
The standard seating arrangement includes two crew seats and four
passenger seats. Additional seating capacity up to a ten-place seating
arrangement is available.
Windows include a two-piece windshield, five large windows on the
right side and four on the left.
A large, one-piece cabin door, located on the left side of the fuselage aft
of the fourth window, swings down and automatically extends three steps for
boarding and exiting. A pneumatic door snubber facilitates opening the
cabin door. A large cargo door aft of the main cabin door also can be
obtained as an option.
