1. Prepare the Heating Film according to the steps in the General
Installation Instructions beginning on page #24.
2. Adhere the Heating Film to the slab or sub-floor using a moisture
resistant or water proofing indoor/outdoor flooring adhesive by rolling
back 1/2 a sheet at a time, using a 3/16"-1/4" (5-6mm) V-notch trowel to
apply adhesive to the floor, setting the Heating Film down onto
the adhesive. Using a roller, apply a continuous, even pressure with
overlapping strokes making a permanent bond between the sub-floor
and film.
3. To help acclimate the wood flooring to its new home, lay out the wood
floor according to the manufacturer's recommendations. This will help
mitigate the effects of subsequent expansion and contraction. The wood
floor manufacturer and installer will help with directions for this process.
4. Install the wood flooring following the manufacturer's guide.
NOTE: NAILS MAY ONLY BE DRIVEN THROUGH THE WHITE
(NAIL STRIP) SECTIONS OF THE HEATING FILM. CHECK WITH YOUR
FLOORING MANUFACTURER FOR MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RATINGS
THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR FLOORING AND SET YOUR
FLOOR SENSOR (INCLUDED WITH ALL THERMOSTATS)
