6.6 CALIBRATION PROCEDURE.
6.6.1 GENERAL.
1. Resistance i s too high
-
R3 is open or i t s
value is too high.
2. R e s i s t a n c e is too low
-
R3 value i s too low
or C 1 i s leaky.
The few internal adjustments are factory s e t and

calibration procedures is listed in T a b l e 6-2.

ORTHONULL OPERATION.
With the switch in the OUT position, the CGRL
and DQ d i a l s must operate independently of e a c h other.
With the lever in the ORTHONULL position, the
CGRL d i a l must move the DQ d i a l but the DQ d i a l
must not move the CGRL dial; if performance i s dif-
ferent and DQ d i a l moves the CGRL d i a l or the CGRL
I
d i a l doesn't move the DQ d i a l , the ORTHONULL wire
tension i s incorrect.
Adjust tension by repositioning
the metal bracket under the ORTHONULL switch
(Figure 6-2).
remove the knob and loosen the two s e t screws on the
bushing.
Turn the d i a l t o the new position and re-
i n s t a l l the parts.
6.6.5 CGRL D l A L CHECK.
Keep the function switch s e t t o POWER O F F ,
but change the CGRL PARAMETER switch t o Lp.
T h i s connects the CGRL PARAMETER rheostat be-
tween ground and the BIAS terminals.
The resistance
measured should equal the setting of the CGRL d i a l in
kilohms, a s in Table
6-6.

DQ DIAL.
Set the function switch t o POWER O F F , the
CGRL PARAMETER switch t o C
,
and the DQ d i a l
fully counterclockwise (50 on H I G ~ D scale). Connect
a d c r e s i s t a n c e bridge between ground and either one
of the BIAS terminals a t jack

T h i s s e t u p allows
the bridge t o measure only the r e s i s t a n c e of the DQ
rheostat in s e r i e s with R3.
With the DQ d i a l fully
counterclockwise, i t s r e s i s t a n c e i s zero and the bridge
measures only the resistance of R3, which should b e
