The transducer is not
properly connected to the
monitor unit.

dome or the catheter is
blocked.
Dome is cracked.
Catheter has fallen out of
place.
Catheter or strain gauge
is not zeroed.
UA board is defective.
Blockage exists in fluid-
filled catheter.
Fetus is pressing directly
on the catheter.
The catheter is defective.

Actions and Solutions
Confirm that the
transducer is securely
connected to the monitor
unit.
Flush the dome and the
catheter.
Inspect the dome for
damages and replace it if
necessary.
Inspect the catheter and
replace it if necessary.
Calibrate catheter or
strain gauge.
Replace the UA board.
Flush the catheter and
Re-zero. Replace the
catheter if necessary.
Reposition by twisting the
catheter.
Check the catheter
functionality. Replace the
transducer if necessary.
