SUSPENSION
The front and rear suspension of this motorcy-
cle can provide the desired ride and level under
various rider/cargo weights and riding condi:-
tions through adjustments of the air' pressure.
The recommended pressures under normal
conditions are:
Front:
14-21 psi (100-150 kPa,
1.0-1.5 kg/ em
l )
Rear:
28-57 psi (200-400 kPa,
2.0-4.0 kg/em
l )
Low air pressure senings provide a softer ride
and are for Jighlloads and smooth road condi-
tions. High air pressure settings provide a
firmer ride and are for heavy loads and rough
road conditions.
• If
the rear swpens;on ai, pressure
warning
light
comes on
while riding,

cyck. Place the motorcycle on its center
stand and add the proper airpressure to Ihe
rear swpens;on.
If
the
warning
light stays
on after adding air, proceed slowly and
have the air system inspected as soon as
possible by the nearest authorized Honda
dealer.

• Do not check air pressure or release air
pressure while riding, os instability and loss
of control may result.

Pressure increases can
be
made with the on-
board air suspension system only when the
ignition switch is at P.
CAUTION:
• Do not use the side stand when adjusting
the air pressures, as you will get [alse pres-
sure readings and the motorcycle may fall,
over. Always use the center stand when
adjusting air pressures.

pressure gaule. Witb the motorcycle on iucen-
ter stand, set the rear suspension air pressure
firs~
then the front.
NOTE:
tbe pressure ga uge was designed to set pres-
sures only; it does not indicate pressures
while riding and cannot be used to check
suspension air pressure.
1. Stt the rear

prfSlure; Press the air valve
button to REAR (2), then press the UP button
(4). Release the UP and REAR buttons when
the proper air pressure is indicated on the pres-
sure gauge (3). To release air pressure from the
rear suspension, press the .air valve button to
REAR (2), then press the DOWN (5) buttnn.
Release the DOWN and REAR buttons when
tbe proper air pressure has been reached.

1. Set the front air pressure; Press the air valve
button to FRONT (I), then press the UP but-
ton (4). Release the UP and FRONT· buttons
when the proper air pressure is indicated on the
pressure gauge (3). To release air pressure from
the front suspension, press the air valve button
to FRONT
(I),
then press theDOWN(S)but-
ton. Release the DOWN and ·FRONTbuttons
when the proper air pressure has been reached.
NOTE:

We recommend that you do not exceed the
recommended air pressure dr the ride will
be harsh and uncomfortable.

Do not use the onboard. air suspension
leveling system for more than
5
minutes at a
time or the air pump may be damaged.
We also recommend that you do not use the
radio and other electrical accessories when
the UP button (4) is being operated to pre-
vent oveNlischarging the battery.
Once the air pressure has been set in the rear
and front suspensions, do not check the air
pressure by pressing FRONT or REAR; press-
ing these buttons after the pressures have been
set will equalize tbe front and rear suspension
air pressures. If this happens, release all air
pressure from the front and rear suspensions
and resel the pressures.
