AIR PUMP ELEMENT
The air pump element
(1)
should be
serviced at regular intervals (Page 70).
,1. Open {..the top compartment cover for
access to the air pump element
(I).
2. Separate the air pump cleaner housing
to remove the element.
3. Wash the element in clean non-flam-
mable soivent and allow it to dry
throughly.

Never use gasoline or low flash point
solvents for cleaning the air pump
element.
A
fire or explosion could
result.
4. Soak the elements in clean gear oil
(SAE #80 or #90) and squeeze out the
excess.
5. Install the element in the housing
pushing the cover into the housing neck
until it snaps closed.

(3) Air cleaner element
3. Remove and discard the air cleaner
element (3).
4. Insert a new air cleaner element.
5. Install removed parts in the reverse
order of removal.

AIR CLEANER
The air cleaner should be serviced at
regular intervals (Page 69). When riding
in dusty areas, more frequent service may
be necessary.
1. Open the top compartment. Get air
pump unit out of the way to obtain
access to air cleaner.
2. Remove the
wing
nut
(l)
and air cleaner
cover (2).
