Operating the SilkWorm 3800

This chapter provides the following information:

Powering the SilkWorm 3800 On and Off

To power the SilkWorm 3800 on:
Connect at least one power cable to a power connector on the switch and to a power source,
then flip the AC power switch to "I".
Note:
To power the SilkWorm 3800 off:
To power the switch off, power off both power supplies (if both are installed) by flipping each
AC power switch to "O".
Note:

Interpreting LED Activity

System activity and status can be determined through the activity of the LEDs on the switch.
There are three possible LED states: no light, a steady light, and a flashing light. The steady lights
and flashing lights may be any of the following colors:
The LEDs may flash any of the colors during boot, POST, or other diagnostic tests. This is normal,
and does not indicate a problem unless the LEDs do not indicate a healthy state after all boot
processes and diagnostic tests are complete.

The switch runs POST (power-on self-test) by default each time it is powered on, reset
or rebooted, and requires a minimum of three minutes to boot and complete POST after
it is powered on.
Removing all power from the switch triggers a system reset. All devices are returned
to their initial state the next time the switch is powered on.
